Connecting to an ICECast2 Server
Connecting to an ICECast2 Server
First, i have to say that Radio Tools is a Very Nice prgram to help keep my listeners up to date on the music that is playing, and pretty much some good server Stats and i absolutly love it.
Recently though, my server admin found a remote exploit in teh SHoutCast DNAS and more or less took down the Shoutcast server. in order for us to get the server access back, he asked my radio station to switch over to ICEcast.
Now that we have switched over ICEcast, i can't get Radiotools to get the statistics of the servers. I type in the IP of teh server, and still get nothing....
So ummm please help me out here..
thanks a Million

hmm yea I haven't exactly tested this with the most recent release of 1.0, it was still in CVS when I wrote this side of it.
At any rate here are things you should be aware of.
When you enter the address of your icecast2 server in RTB you MUST include a mount point, that is the point at which others connect to your server for example: http://localhost:8000/myradio.ogg
Once it tries to gather stats for this entry it will prompt you for the username and password of the mount so that it can gather stats.
