Now Playing Feature

Post by PCRadio »

Does anybody know how to get the now playing feature to work? I need it so that when a user clicks the ON Air picture on my site, it shows them what's playing. Is there a way to do this and how?

you have two options

FTP Service and PHP Service.

FTP Service is template driven while PHP is just variables that you can place on any script inside or outside your site.

Are you using the correct tags? Look at template.txt that comes with Radio Toolbox for an example.

I never even looked at it, but there's no place in there to put a link to my template file

hmm ok why do you have the image in there, that is intended for a php script. Is your webserver PHP enabled? And do you want to use the Script Service to update your wepage? This will require PHP.

What I want is a script thet will create exactly what you have in your sig. I must use HTML because that's all my webhost will allow.

In that case use the template.txt in the FTP service. If you have done this and it still is not working could you give me any errors that the FTP service in the Current Stats (Alt+C) window is posting?

Also get rid of the song band, generated images will only work on websites using PHP. The stats that Radio Toolbox will generate for you will be text based like HTML.

Still nothing, but now at least I have a small graph that would show it if something was there

well that's because you put the template file on the server, take that page and put it in the Radio Toolbox directory and name it mytemplate.txt

then go to File->Options and click the FTP Service tab. Fill out the details to your FTP server in this form. Where it says Template File, click the Browse button and browse to mytemplate.txt

if all goes well FTP service in the Current Stats window should not have any errors. And should not say "Disabled"

Does anybody know of another way to show what I'm currently playing using HTML. This is too complicated.
