How much bandwidth must i have
Hello all,
I'm a radio newby and have a question, i want to broadcast a daily talkradio show for 50 listners. It only contains voice (no music).
It MUST be live radio.
How fast must my upload bandwitdh be so i can send without hickups to a streaming server ?
Thanks,

well for voice you can use low bitrates but you really should figure out what bitrate you want to broadcast at before you can know how much upload it would take.
Conservatively if you wanted to handle 50 listeners all at the same time at 16kbps you would need about 1Mbps connection or a T1.
You can play around with this calculator set on Concurrent Listeners

Cable
Or you could use a REALLY GOOD cable connection I know people on cable that are getting really close to 1MB up.
The Mixture Media Radio:
The best on-line music from the 60's,70's,80's,90's and today. Streaming at 64kbps/48khz (MP3) and 32kbps/44khz (Ogg) 24 hours a day 7 days a week. With great sound and even better music.
