nsnipes, several of the hosting companies listed here on Radiotoolbox offer the service you are looking for. We call it 'M2M Autopilot' while others may call it by other names. Here's a flavour of what the system offers - - central storage space for uploading your mp3 files - easy to use control pan...

5280 - we've completed such a setup for a couple of our clients. In one instance, we actually utilised a different server to stream their signal. They were happy to utilise two servers for maximum resilience - simply a case of customer preference. SAM4 and the database are running very happily on a ...

Whilst I don't want to comment on the pros and cons of a service provider such as Live 365 (don't want to be accused of bashing competition).... I do note that many broadcasters start off with Live365 and then seem to move away from it. I think nowadays there is a lot more choice when it comes to le...

Agree with Jay on this one....tune into a few stations either here on radiotoolbox or at www.shoutcast.com - try to select one or two at 192kbps, one or two at 128kbps and one or two at 96kbps. As already mentioned - much depends on the quality of input source and processing that the station utilise...

To answer your question - 96 kbps is fine for music quality streaming if you are clever with a bit of audio processing - I would suggest it would equate to a FM radio signal - should you use a decent mp3 codec to broadcast with. If you want a reliable host - look at the hosting section of this websi...

Hi there nitrouk, welcome to the world of internet broadcasting. Our 2 cents worth here - You said you wanted information on a computer based playout software package that can handle all your requirements whilst broadcasting the signal to a Shoutcast server. I would certainly recommend - SAM Broadca...

a .pls file is a playlist file that directs a media player (such as Winamp etc) to an audio (or video) source. As such - you should be able to upload a .pls file to most web servers (I guess some free hosts might restrict the type of file you can upload). If that is what you are looking for - have a...
