ROKU FLOOD! (I'm posting here because traffic)

Post by gdradio »

Anyone notice that when a ROKU device attaches it brings along up to 20 dupe IP addresses?

example: Roku/DVP-10.5 (10.5.0.4208-AE)

any tips on management? or just let it be..

It could be the Roku app itself. It definitely isn't good that it connects 20 times. Do you happen to know which app is being used to connect to your server?

this is all I see: Roku/DVP-10.5 (10.5.0.4208-AE)

I kick the agent when I see the spike, but as you see below... it just adds to a pile of blocked user agents

Going to move this topic to Audio Streaming since it's not really a Radio Toolbox issue.

If all of those agents are coming from one IP, it's possible that someone has setup devices all over their network to connect to your stream. The versions and firmware are not matched which tells me that these are unique devices. Having said that, user agents are user definable, so keep that in mind as you decide how to handle this.

I have a few Roku devices around here, so I will play with them on my side and see if I can duplicate what you are seeing as far as multiple connections at the same time when listening.
