ad service / license service

Post by dj002 »

I found my current fantastic streamhost using radiotoolbox' rating system. Now, I am thinking of changing my ad service and license service and looking for new providers. Can anyone suggest to me:

An ad service with good ads that aren't wanky.
A license service that doesn't charge too much and has many gradations in its fee schedule, so I can pay accurately

The only licensing service that I am aware of at this time is www.streamlicensing.com

I went to their site and began studying their tutorials. Pricing seems reasonable. Adding the stream seems simple enough. But the "Player Page" rules and regulations take about 50 pages and are mind-boggling. It seems completely crazy. Am I missing something?

That is the nature of music licensing currently. The license gets tied to the domain that is paying SoundExchange. So since StreamLicensing is paying SoundExchange on your behalf your listeners have to be funnelled through their website.

There is news that LoudCity might be sold instead of shut down so you might be ok to wait things out.
